Our Piano Refinishing Process.

Preparation.

Old finishes must be completely removed.  Stripping old finish is dirty business, but if it is rushed or incomplete, the evidence will surface in the new finish.  Once down to the bare wood, repairs can be made.  When done properly, all of this work will vanish underneath the new, beautiful finish.

Repairs.

Common repairs are made for deep scratches, damaged edges, loose or missing veneer.  Often, case parts are also damaged or broken.  Lids get broken, legs get loose, pedals break apart – and all have to be addressed during this stage of the refinishing process.

Spraying.

At Atlanta Piano Refinishing, we take each step of the refinishing process carefully and methodically to achieve factory-level finishes.  Whether that is bringing a vintage art case back to its original glory or enjoying a contemporary high-gloss finish, the early stages of preparation make the final result possible.
